I'll try to describe this image in words. I'm quite interested in what you'll come up with, so I'll write my description in a train trip from here to Manchester tomorrow and post it at some later point.
Could you describe it as accurately as possible while being sort of evocative and avoiding too many technicisms? Or maybe there's so much variability in the descriptions that I shouldn't ask for any constraints...
Cheers.
You have it larger here.

This is a black and white photography, a bit blurry everywhere, of a beach scene by the sea. The horizon is tilted about 30 degrees through the frame (left lower than right), with a plain sky and uniform dark water, against some sand. Dark shadow falls over the beach, like that of a large unbrella to the right, while bathers stand on the sands at the wasters edge in the distance, bleached out by overexposure. A family sits on a towel at right, while a white rocky headland enters from the left joing sea and sky. Peaceful, the warming sun at midday, relaxing.
This picture gives me a feeling that the focus is not so much on the people. The people are the background, but the sea and the sky is the real intended capture in the picture. It gives me a feeling that this world is very big, very diverse and any problems or worries I have now, suddenly seems so small..

Slanty sea-slide shot, pretending the beach is straight and the sea isn't sea-level.
